Yeh, we shouldn't torture people with information that could save the lives of innocent people or protect our assets. Torture has worked well enough throughout history and shouldn't be banned because of silly idealism.
Isn't it funny that terrorism has declined during the time we have been using torture? Obviously, it's more of an issue with liberals than with muslims.

Imo it should be authorised but only in cases of extreme urgence, like a bomb that's about to go off and kill thousands of people. And even then, really when there is no alternative. It's a touchy subject.

You are making an implicit assumption that you yourself will never be tortured. This is not supported by history. Once you descend into barbarism all things can and usually do happen.
