Tomatoes were found in America, so I think we've got pronunciation rights brunster64 ; English isn't spoken the same throughout England so think about that. Totally agree with the pisswater comment though.

not at all... colour is an english word, yet americans have decided to remove a letter! by your logic, wouldn't the brits have spelling rights for colour? and also, paris is a french city, pronouced par - ree. yet the english speaking world decided to spell it with emphasis on the 's'. so wouldn't the french have equal reason to claim pronounciation rights for paris?

to tell you the truth, that's actually how i spell colour, and i've gotten into arguments on why we should call cities by what their natives call them; i refuse to call Deutchland "Germany". I don't see why we make everything confusing by having multiple names for the same places.
