Alan Cumming and the rest of the revival cast of Cabaret perform "Willkommen" at the Tony Awards. Cabaret included music by John Kander and Fred Ebb and this production was directed by Sam Mendes.

I wonder if other people feel the same way I do.. In the 2 hour Cabaret show, Cumming and Grey were fantastic in "Willkommen", "Money", and "Two Ladies". Also in the movie, Liza was fantastic in "Life is a Cabaret" and "Money". But the rest of the play is not nearly as good. I think without those 4 fantastic parts of the show - this play is not so good. In a musical such as "The Sound Of Music", the show is great from start to finish. I feel "Cabaret" would be obscure if not for the emcee.

The play must be watched in it's entirety to understand the complexity of the Emcee's character. Why is he so pale??? Why does he not have a name, and just introduces himself as ME??? If you watch the whole play, one might see him as being eeveryone that was prosecuted during the Holocaust. Without giving much away, at the end of the play he is obviously dressed as a consentration camp victim. The symbols on his clother were a pink triangle, yellow star of david, and a red diamond. What are they
