Genesis - The Knife

Back

The favourite prog/hard song of most of Genesis fans, including Steve Hackett's guitar solo!!! Super lineup: Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. This is from the Foxtrot (Supper is ready) Tour, January 10th 1973 in "Le Club Bataclan", Paris.

I find it hilarious that people here are arguing over "what prog band is better". Seriously guys? Who cares? Genesis were amazing. That doesn't mean other bands are somehow not amazing. Having a bitchfest over this stuff is ridiculous.

One would never have thought at the time that the bearded long haired drummer would go on to have a long term career as a mainstream POP singer...

I was thinking same thing but I also think that in the end that Peter Gabriel's solo work was more ingenious than anything by any of these guys together or alone. I would never have imagined him the way he is here, shruming out in locomotive jam.
