The main point about appearance is that the only person who can see your motorcycle fully is a bystander. From the riders perspective the appearance doesn't matter much unless you are into looking at yourself riding past shop windows or you are a poser. I'd rather have an ugly, brilliant performing motorcycle. Good if you get both beauty and performance. The Busa is designed for aerodynamic performance foremost and that's what gives it the top speed edge. Ugly? Perhaps, but it's unique.

The only things that the manufacturer approves fitted to the motorcycle as non-stock items are tyres, oil, brake fluid, coolant and brake pads. Fuel type is also defined and often excludes low octane and racing fuel, methanol or ethanol blends and additives. If you ran a Busa on Avgas it wouldn't be stock nor would a a different exhaust or Power Commander. So "stock" is a clearly defined concept. In many countries, modifiying stock motorcycles is illegal, especially mods which effect EPA rules.

IMO stock means a showroom bike as delivered and this is the criteria for racing most stock classes. If we use your definition of stock then I can change the exhaust to a full titanium system, higher compression, modified cylinder head, titanium rods, racing pistons, power commander, undercut gears, heavier clutch springs, modded brakes. Is this stock? I think not. You exclude turbos only and it's abitrary. A Busa with all those mods could have as much as 220 hp. No limiter = modified.

MMM, hit a raw nerve have I? Such an intelligent and well reasoned response...not. How old are? Let me guess, 20, no, 16, no 13. Anything longer than 2 weeks is a long time eh? You would probably forget what you wrote one hour ago let alone one month. Perhaps you are used to making ill considered and chidish remarks on forums. A typical no brain response. Perhaps you need to complete grade school.

yes I know...but you can't compare limited(all japs and busa) bikes and unlimited(312R)....sorry...busa is fastest....for me STOCK MEANS WITHOUT TURBO...not with electronic limiter....bye.
