About 18 years ago I heard another beautiful version of this song with the singer accompanied by George Harrison on guitar. I don't know who it was, and have been trying to find out ever since. If anyone can help me, please respond to my comment. Thank you!

"I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all"
BELLISSIMA.

A few weeks ago I laid my dear mother to rest. She died very suddenly at the age of 65. I've listened to this song often since then. I was aware of it, of course, and recognised it as a beautiful and bittersweet song, but never before stopped and listened to it. So I was in my parental home shortly after the funeral, and it came on the radio, and the line "I've looked at life from both sides now" jumped out at me and grabbed my attention. Mother would have loved this song.

wow..
I lost a friend a couple years ago and I played this song over and over again. Love this version as well as Judy's.
Sounds like your mom was there in spirit!

I agree. Judy Collins is a great song interpreter and has sung many many good songs including this one but Joni's version has more edge and feeling.
I listened to this song24 /7 going thu divorce after the movie came out. I have it on IPod now and have created a new life. I want to put on my website and share with others. By the way, I still listen to the song daily...powerful and beautiful and REAL! Best, brigitte My life Instruction......By the way,,,the movie and song motivated me to start My Life instruction...Thank you>
