The singer of the theme song,Don Spencer, is the father of Russell Crowe's wife, Danielle. I think the song was released as a 45 and made the charts in the UK
I Grew up with this, Supercar, Stingray, Thunderbirds and finally Captain Scarlett. We all watched it on Ch 5 or 11 in NYC.

i was 8 yrs old when i used to see this show at 9:30 on saturday mornings would not miss it for the world it takes me back to a very happy time

I was just Two when I was into this! Not that hard to believe when you think I went on to WORK for the guy! Unfortunately, SPACE PRECINCT wasnt half the show that this was!! Every time I fly in a commercial jet and Im on the runway about to take off, I think of Fireball on the ramp. the sound of the engines as they kick i for the final push is so close! Amazing how accurate it was too (orbitng main body, with the nose cone landing and returning when visiting alien worlds!
I had the one that was about 16" long. The hatch opened and everything and the front pod disconnected from the main body. I saw one on eBay once-$400+ YIKES!

I can just about remember this - I was 4 in 1962. What did Fireball Xl5 do? All I can recall is it taking off from the ramp.
