This guitar is a Real 1956 Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet.
This guitar is the same guitar that Cliff Gallup used on the recording of Gene Vincent in 1956. I reproduced the tone of Cliff Gallup using this guitar.

i suggest first on you playing and then buy such a good guitar..its how good the guitar the better u sound..give any crappy guitar to page or and it will sound great..
yes i'm an ass and i like! :D
Not an expert but way too much echo compared to the original. Also, not sure he had a melita (maybe?). Got a Gretsch roundup (dynas) with a Bigsby bridge and with a Fender Twin Amp and HH multi echo, can get very similar sound to the mighty Cliff...
its close, try backing off the volume on your slapback a bit and trying one of the many ways to level off your attack since its way too strong, maybe try a more rounded pick
overall it sounds pretty good to me though

Stray, I like your guitar playing and I like that guitar. Could you do some more videos of you playing that guitar. I see a lot with your 6120s which are very nice but love to see some more with your Duo Jet. Thanks.

Yeah,I bought that cd the day it came out.I heard that Beck kept turning the volume down and it kept sounding better.I guess things were recorded much quieter back then.Did you hear that Cliff's wife sent Beck some of his picks? But she flattened the steel fingerpicks so they would lay flat in an envelope.Dan
