This is the sign off used by PBS station WNET. (I am guessing the clip used pre dates 2001.)

At least they still acknowlege their Newark roots, despite having physical studios in NYC nowadays.

WNET went to 24/6 operation in the late 80's, guess WNET was one of the first PBS stations to have a 24 hour schedule. WTVS in Detroit during this time was also 24/6 station.

I'm surprised that there is a station that still does an authentic sign-off! WNJN (New Jersey) used to do that but now they show cooking shows!

Here in Las Vegas, KLVX used to shut down overnight on broadcast, but would continue 24 hours on cable. Now both feeds are 24 hours.

Where do they do the paid ads?
MrUnidyne (Thursday 1st of November 2007 08:25:24 PM)
The closest they have to paid ads are announcements stating that the show is "supported by an underwriting grant from (company name and logo)", followed by an intentionally non-promotional comment about how the company supports public TV.
