Most of Sweet's early stuff was bubblegum crap written by the pop song duo Chin and Chapman (Little Willy, etc.), but once they started writing their own stuff, they RULED!

I pointed this out a year ago lol. (see above).
Due to contractual reasons, they didn't actually play their instruments until Wig Wam Bam.
I quite liked some of the bubblegum pop crap and, as pointed out in a reply, it was the path that got them noticed. But they could always play and they always wanted to be a rock band.

Finally, I thought I was the only one. Actually the producer Roy Thomas Baker (producer of Queen, Nazareth, Journey, etc. ) stole big time from this band. He even produced The Darkness which copies the Sweet uh, sorry Queen sound.
