first bill tells a sad, interesting story of the circumstances surrounding this classic song being written, and then Guy Penrod and David Phelps do their thing and sing the song beautifully with the rest of the homecoming friends

Lord have mercy. These two boys have the voices of angels, to sing and bless the people of God. Guy is a precious man also and the spirit of these men makes me want to go on another day.

It is very "anointed" artist like these who sing with such convincing convictions that ushers His Spirit of Comfort to me and allow cleansing tears to flow from my soul. Thank you sooo much for this beautiful clip.

Well folks, I'm here to tell you that hoover4000 was right on the money by posting this video. My 84-year old father passed away just a few weeks ago. The entire week prior to his passing, this song kept stirring in my heart. So, I did a web-search and came upon this wonderful rendition. I played it over and over again, not realizing how God was using it to prepare my heart for the weeks ahead. Guy Penrod and David Phelps both clearly use their voices for the glory of God almighty.

Awesome. The GVB is one of my favorites. Guy Penrod is also a cousin to my step father.

He's using his gift of voice for the right purpose. David Phelps, Guy Penrod and the choir are doing justice to a beautiful song, with beautiful lyrics. Praise the Lord

Thank you "hoover4000" I was about to get a bit upset. For someone who has a humble heart and thankful spirit the comment LetsGoMets631 made is pretty comical. If you actually think the people were praising Phelps instead of the Lord during the song you are missing "it."
I personally am lacking in both areas but by deeds, by heart and intent, by faith and yes by song people praise the Lord. By song the people were touched not by his skill but by the spirit they felt from the Lord through him.
