I think Star Wars and LOTR are both amazing, but I also think that they're to different to compare with, one being so sci-fi and the other being so midieval fantasy-ish. I think Star Wars is more classic/epic and stuff but LOTR had more packed into it, you know, for the plot/subplots and stuff. But lets not bring the whole graphics thing into the picture, i mean come on, the original star wars trilogy was made in the 70s...

I love it. Lord of the Rings is awesome. In terms of movie quality, I'd say LotR is better, because Star Wars kind of looks like little kids in Halloween costumes, no offense to Star Wars. A band that should have done a song for LotR is Nightwish.

I think LOTR is a nice series with Return of the King finishing it nicely. But I'd have to say that Star Wars is an all time classic sci-fi since early 1960s, not saying either which ones better.
