Producer Timbaland rips song from finnish musician?

Back

The producer Timbaland seems to have used a six year old song from a finish musician and used it for the song "Do it" by Nelly Furtado. Watch this video to see for yourself, and then visit http://tinyurl.com/yeqknw or http://digg.com/music/Timbaland_ripped_off_a_track_from_my_buddy to read more and to hear the original song. UPDATE! Timbaland also used the song as a "Timbaland Original Ringtone" in 2005! Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV2fTEeP6GM Note: I have nothing to do with the original song, I just think it's wrong for someone to use someone elses work without crediting them. I would like to add something else too: the point of these videos was to show the similarities between the songs. For some reason that is completely foreign to me, some users feel that this is the forum to express their hateful and racist comments about other people. I WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH BEHAVIOUR! If you want to comment the videos, that is fine, but BE ADULT ABOUT IT! If the only thing that you can think of writing is something you wouldn't like said about yourself then don't write it. If the hateful and racist comments continue, I will simply disable the commenting-feature. Thank you for your time.

and it's normal for them to clear the songs /recordings they use BEFORE release, even if it's ONE second.. sample one second from Tim's tune.. you'll have his lawyers after you.. So next time he's crying off about people "stealing" his work.. it's a joke.. it wasn't his in the first place.

A lot of producers want to give people what is "known" to be good in a track. That is to give listeners a familiar melody, vocal, and beats. It's sad because it's public demanded and the producers have no choice if they want to sell music. I enjoy hearing things that are new and different because the same old stuff is just boring to me. I see why producers do it though. I just wish they didn't feel they have to. I don't.

sampling is only taking (its either 4-9 seconds, i forget) of a particular song...not an entire melody. But, if he were to be okay'ed for using this then there would be no problem, but now its just copyright infringement.

Timbaland is a dj-producer. I think it's normal for a dj to pasts songs.

Original* (not intro)

Unless timbo gave credit here, that's WROOOONG. Daft Punk have sampled the shit outta loads of songs, but they gave the credit that was due. (And made it a bit more different from the intro)
