CGRHD reviews ATARI 2600 DRIVING CONTROLLERS

Back

Classic Game Room HD reviews the Atari 2600 driving controllers for use with the video game, Indy 500. What is the difference between the Atari paddle controllers and the driving controllers? Watch this review featuring Stella the Classic Game Room dog. They are very similar of course, but there is a difference. When you find a rare game cartridge like Indy 500, which is an awesome old school retro arcade style F1 Formula One race car driving game, you'll NEED a driving controller to play it! These driving controllers do not work for the Playstation 3 PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii... sadly. Stella the Classic Game Room dog is a cute puppy, she's a German Shepherd Chow Chow mix breed adopted from the Humane Society. She likes Atari, food, chasing rabbits and food. So check out this comprehensive review of the driving controllers vs the paddle controllers with gameplay and footage worked into it. Ideally they will release GT5 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (or the full version in 2009) for both the PS3 and the Atari 2600 with Driving Controller support.

Yeah Indy 500 is awesome so getting the specialized controllers for just one game while kinda silly you'd want to because it is a great game. ---- "Ideally they will release GT5 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (or the full version in 2009) for both the PS3 and the Atari 2600 with Driving Controller support." <-- lol Classic Game Room is awesome.

Does that game works with the paddle controller?
gdement (Thursday 28th of August 2008 04:23:03 AM)
Probably not, because the paddles and driving controllers work differently. The paddle signals it's absolute position, but the driving control signals movement instead (it doesn't have a position). So I don't think a game written for one type would work with the other.
