i had the pleasure of watching mariam makeba at rhodes univerity....after reading this i have just found out tht she as passed away! this woman is amazing! rip

No doubt some fine and mostly innocent people were driven off their farms, but this is to be expected when a colonial power takes over land that doesn't really belong to them, and fails to reach an accomodation with the people who have lived there for hundreds of years. The British,French,Dutch,Germans and Portuguese all tried to build empires by taking over territory from the indigenous population.
complete rubbish when the Dutch arrived the Orange Free State was unpopulated. inform yourself better.

A terrible concert of so called "Good humans". I am missing a concert for all the displaced farmers and killed white farmers in Rhodesia and for all the killed people in South Africa. Nobody is talking about this!!!

..Miriam Makeba è morta in Italia, vicino a Caserta, mentre faceva un tour per finanziare le campagne anti-mafia.. mi sembra eccezionale che una persona che ha lottato contro tantissime ingiustizie nel suo paese (appunto l'apartheid), si dia da fare per aiutare anche gli altri paesi..
