This was the first release from the 'new' PiL. A line up which would last in various forms for another five years. 'Seattle' was written on tour while the band were in Seattle, apparently inspired by how boring the town was.
Quotes:
Seattle is unusual, in that we recorded it on tour, when we had some days off. The days off were in Seattle. Clever huh?
- John Lydon, 'Plastic Box' sleevenotes 1999

Totally original, cannot be duplicted, utterly new and unique, sensational, frighteningly funny, gob-smackingly true, completely valid and authoritative, unreproachable, exhilerating, inspiring, one of a kind, brilliant, spot on, direct, justified, revelatory, special, spine-tingling, hair-raising, eye-popping, ear-busting, soul-searching, mind-blowing, face-fucking, nose-nobbing, ego-drubbing, shit-taking, piss-fucking, vomit-casting, bile-throwing, sweat-swabbing, groin-grabbing, knee-knocking

Seattle has the same kindof ego that the South does. More and more everyday here in the South, I see the rejection of the Souths image because of fear. The rejection of so much talent and the demand to send it all to LA because it doesn't fit in their conformity of a pure homogenized state. And their conformity is becoming more politically correct everyday as well.
And like Seattle, it rejects any sign of diversity and replaces it with conformity and a suicidal enviornment.
