Pablo Honey just had the least sophisticated, more poppy conventional song structures. Just appeals to a very different crowd. As they went on, their music grew much deeper and songs much more mature, and much "better". The band themselves state that Pablo Honey was not Radiohead at all. In my opinion it was a necessary (well not really necessary, but easiest) start in order to get the funds they needed to buy all the equipment and studio time required to experiment and come up with new sounds.

i don't think pablo honey was terrible... but i definately think radiohead has found different ways of reinventing themselves with each album. and they're better off for it. ... but they did have terrible hair. haha
