I agree about it being real, but you're not really right about the timing thing. CB's bump recievers off their routes and slow them down. If QB's just threw it where they were supposed to be everytime, it would be incomplete and INT'd all the time. QB's are supposed to look for windows through the defense to complete passes, throw it where the reciever won't take a massive hit, and put it where the reciever can gain yardage after the catch.
