When I heard Daft Punk's remix I knew I had to hear the original. Unfortunately I cant find it on Itunes or amazon, does anyone know what album it is off of?....P.S. I like the original better, I was right not to trust Daft Punk!!

you can judge a remix in comparison to the original if you want to, just as a measure of how creative and referential the remix production is, but of course you should also listen to the remix as a piece of music in its own right. I think the sonics of the remix are much better, much tighter and crisper, but the original stands out as a really innovative piece with an intense progression that sounds more coherent as a 'song' than the remix... IMO
